Heather Has Two Mommies
Leslea Newman
I like that the girl is really active and really sweet. It was a good reminder that not all families look the same.

To Love A Beast
Karen Witemeyer
To Love A Beast is a wonderful, Christian retelling of Beauty And The Beast. The references to the original story were so fun to happen upon, and the love story had me hooked. The found-family portions with the household employees were also enjoyable. Mr Lightfoot was good as the comic relief, and I loved the motherly relationship Mrs Potter provided to Callista. Everett was complex without being overly obnoxious, which made it easy to root for his and Callista's love.

Diary Of A Worm
Doreen Cronin
Diary Of A Worm follows a school-age worm's writings about various happenings in his home and community. The art is well done and lends to the humor of the writings. We especially enjoy the "photos" drawn inside the cover that allow us to make up more stories about what Worm could be getting up to in each image.

The Little Friend
Donna Tartt
Beautiful writing. Interesting themes of morality, justice, and identity shown throughout many different characters. However, I think there was more here to talk about. Would’ve love to explore Ida Rhew or Pemberton / the Hulls more.
