Local author- quick read but doesn’t flow. Some editing errors and continuity issues

Humorous story with wonderful illustrations!

Okay... first off.... As an Ohio native who loves the history of where I grew up I'm a sucker for any book with the Shawnee Tribe in it and especially when it's Laura Frantz.... then she added Laromie's Station and George Rogers Clark... *chef's kiss*... Red Shirt carried that air you often hear of Tecumseh carrying... "he is a man of very strong medicine". Though his back story is different, he very much had that feel about him. Second this book is a betrayal to this book. This is NOT a cutesy, feel good historical romance. I have read some people claim the burn was too slow for them, but for me it was perfect! Too often I think the burn is amazing and then they wake up and get married. The progression in this book of their relationship was more believable. Although Red Shirt did frustrate me. He seemed to make her life more difficult, I think in the end this was on purpose to show his pull between his half Shawnee side and half white man side. This was his journey to find himself too. It just wasn't as loud as hers. Morrow's progression to finding her own strength was slow and painful as a reader. I felt like everyone was dragging her through, but she eventually kept up then when she hit her mark... Yes, girl! Overall this book seemed so many twists and turns and more than one story in one. I borrowed this from my local library, but already purchased my own copy for my bookshelves. Laura Frantz delivered again with this one. This definitely joins "The Colonel's Lady" as one my favorites that will forever grace my bookshelf.

MMC was hella boring, but FMC and the rest of the B plot and C plot AND D PLOT! woah!!! fingerpicking.... here for the world building at this point. a little tear eyed at the end. we love to see an addict get help.
